When parents ask about the Xiarider K2 or K5, the first question is rarely "how fast?" It's "Is it safe for my kid?" That question shapes everything we build.
Our tagline — GO WHERE THE GROUND CHANGES — is an invitation to explore, not a license to be reckless. Real exploration needs real safeguards. That's why every Xiarider ships with a safety tether (kill switch) as standard equipment.
What Is a Safety Tether (Kill Switch)?
A safety tether is a short, wearable lanyard that connects the rider to the bike's kill switch. Clip one end to your wrist or riding jacket; the other stays seated in the switch. The moment you and the bike separate — a slip, a fall, a tumble into a rut — the lanyard pulls the pin, and the motor cuts power instantly. No throttle. No runaway.

It's the same instinct that protects riders on OSET's magnetic-leash trials bikes and youth motocross worldwide: when the rider is no longer in control, the bike isn't either.
Why a Tether Matters for Youth + Family Riding
The 12–16 age band is where young riders grow into real terrain — and where falls are simply part of learning. A safety tether removes the worst-case failure mode: the "whisky throttle," where a fallen bike keeps driving forward with no one on it. For a parent watching from the trailhead, that matters more than any top-speed number. It's the difference between a scraped knee and a bike pinwheeling down a hill.
Xiarider‘s Safety Stack — Beyond the Tether
The tether is the front line. Behind it sits a system designed for families:
- UL 2272 Certified electrical system — our battery and wiring are built to the UL 2272 standard for personal e-mobility devices.
- Engineered frames — the K2's aero-aluminum chassis keeps weight to 48 kg (≈106 lb) for predictable handling; both models run 260 mm of ground clearance and 14"/12" wheels for stable, confident tracking.
- Built for supervised riding — every XiaRider is designed to be ridden with a parent in the loop, on private land and approved trails.
- A 2-year warranty on the frame, chassis, and components (battery: 1 year) — longer than most budget e-dirt bikes, because we expect these to be ridden, not parked.
Performance Without Compromise
Safety never meant slow. The K2 flagship delivers 3000W, 45 MPH, 152.8 Nm of torque, and a 35° climb angle — numbers that put it in the premium-youth tier, not the toy box. Range reaches 85 km on a charge. The tether doesn't cap the fun; it caps the risk. You get the ground that changes, and the peace of mind that should come with it.
A Note to Parents
Teach the throttle like you'd teach the trail. Ride together. Gear up — helmet, goggles, gloves, boots. And know that the machine your child learns on was engineered by people who also have kids. GO WHERE THE GROUND CHANGES — together.
